Principal’s Message

02053   Mr. James Hough
Hello Tigers:
I hope all of you are enjoying your summer break and are now looking forward to the start of the 2016-2017 school year.  As I reflect back on our previous school year, I can’t believe all that we accomplished!  We made a lot of progress academically and continued to exceed my expectations.  We were also named a Four Star School this year.
In order to achieve Four Star designation, a school must be in the top 25th percentile of schools in two ISTEP-based categories.  Additionally, a qualifying school must have earned the highest designation in the state’s accountability system.  A total of 287 schools received the award throughout the state.
Now with all of that said, we need to look ahead and get ready for another spectacular year! A question from our Superintendent resonated with me this year and that was, “What makes us different?”  As I pondered his words, images of the people in our school and community flooded my brain.  What makes us different are the people in our school, the sense of community and the family atmosphere that we have.  We all care for one another and take great pride in our school!
I want us ALL to take pride in being a Triton Central Tiger and to work together as a Family.  I never want us to be content with the achievements of the past but instead I want us to be resolute in our convictions to continually improve.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and come back to school renewed and ready to be part of our Triton Central Elementary School Family!  As Hellen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”   So if we all work together the sky is the limit!
Your Principal,
Mr.  Hough
