Why are meal applications important?

Applying for school meals helps families and schools. By applying, families can receive no or low-cost meals and could be eligible for other benefits. By completing applications families are also helping their school and district receive additional school funding or qualify for grants and additional nutrition programs. 

The cafeterias at all Triton Central Schools are managed by Chartwells. Information about cafeteria services can be obtained by contacting the kitchen manager in the building where your children are or the director of dining services.

Did you know our families are encouraged to apply for free and reduced lunch meals?

Each year the Northwestern Consolidated School District of Shelby County asks parents to complete a form asking about household income levels to determine if students qualify for the Free & Reduced Lunch Program.

Did you know students eligible for the Free & Reduced Lunch Program also earn the school additional revenue that has nothing to do with the food service program?

Higher percentages of free and reduced lunch counts bring schools additional Federal Title Revenue, Federal Special Education Revenue, Federal E-Rate Revenue (discounts on telecommunication services) and State Compensatory Revenue.
